Sri Ram Janardhan Mandir – Ujjain
Sri Ram Janardhan Mandir is situated in Ujjain City of
Madhya Pradesh State.
The main deity of this temple is Lord Shree Ram who is
an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It has the temples of Shree Ram and Janardan
(Vishnu).
The Maratha period's beautiful and graceful
architectural structure style is perfectly exemplified by Ram Janardhan Mandir.
The architectural majesty and artistic brilliance of the Govardhandhari
Krishna, Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva figures make them highly stunning. The
towering and traditional Maratha paintings that cover the walls add to the
temple's beauty. The statues of Govardhandhari Krishna, Brahma, Vishnu, and
Mahesh are incredibly remarkable due to their magnificent architecture and
artistic brilliance. These magnificent monuments are undoubtedly worthy of
drawing the attention of both devotees and casual visitors. The structure
contains Maratha-style paintings that depict incidents from Ram and Krishna's
lives. It is a stunning illustration of Maratha art.
Ujjain became the gathering place for painters who
favored the Poona and Kangra styles during the Maratha era. The two different
painting techniques have a distinct effect. The Ram Janardan, Kal Bhairav, Kalpeshwar,
and Tilakeshwar temples are examples of the Maratha style, while the Sandipani
Ashram and other large houses that belong to local seths are examples of the traditional Malwa style.
Shree Ram Janardan Temple in the Ankpat Kshetra was constructed in the 17th century. Later, the Marathas constructed a boundary wall
around it and a kund during the 18th century.
