Kumbha Sankranti

 Kumbh Sankranti is the day When the transition of the sun takes place to Kumbha Rashi (Aquarius) from Makara Rashi (Capricorn). Kumbh Sankranti Day is celebrated mainly in the eastern parts of India.

There are 12 Sankranti days in a year. This is the eleventh Sankranti. The eleventh month in the solar calendar starts on Kumbh Sankranti day. Sankranti day is considered highly auspicious for Daan activity. River baths (Sankramana Snan) are also performed on this day.
