• It is celebrated on the second day of Shukla paksha of Phalguna month
• It is considered a symbol for the arrival of Holi

• Special rituals take place in Lord Krishna temples, especially in Mathura, Vrindavan, and some regions of North India.
• It is considered to be very auspicious to be free from Dosha on this day and is known as Aboojh Muhurat.
• In north India most weddings commence on this day.
• People also start new business ventures on this day.
• On this day there is a ritual of playing Holi with flowers
• Special celebrations will take in almost all Lord Krishna temples
• Devotees observe fast on this day to please Lord Krishna.
