It is believed that before starting their final
YATRA to the Himalayas, the Pandavas also prayed to this idol.
The King Shri Gang Dev got divine instruction in his dream to install the idol to be recovered from the water. Then he installed this idol in his garh (fort).
The Temple has the highest Shikhar on the sanctum sanctorum, the shrine of
Charbhuja Nath Ji, In the middle of the Shikhar has an octagonal round tomb-like shape. Adjacent to this are two other round shikhars. The original temple
displays an excellent mirror work. The shutters of the inner temple are made of
gold while outer shutters are made of silver.
In the month of
Bhadrapada, a big fair is held. Holi, Navaratri, Janmashtami, and Sri Ramanavami
are the festivals celebrated here.
