Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple Timings - Mayapur
Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple is located in Devapalli in the state of West Bengal.
Here the deity is
self-manifested, Hiranyakasipu on his lap and Prahlada at his feet.
The temple is
famous when Lord Narasimha Swamy came here to take rest and wash the blood from
his hands after bestowing his mercy in Prahlada by killing his father Hirayankasipu.
Next to the temple
is a lake left behind by Mandakini river that flowed here at that time.
The demigods
followed Narasimha Swamy here and worshipped inn great opulence. The changing course of the mandakini river
covered the demigod’s palaces and destroyed them and all that remains of them
now is the hills that surrounding this area.
It is also said
that Narasimha Swamy washed his hands in the pond next to the temple.
This temple was believed
to be 500 years old.
