Tungnath Temple Timings

 

Tungnath Temple is located in Rudraprayag district in the state of Uttarakhand.

Tungnath is an incarnation of Lord Shiva.

It is one among the Pancha Kedar temples and this is the place where Lord Shiva’s hands found.

It is one of the highest Shiva temples in the world. It is located at an altitude of 3680 mts from Sea level and just below the peak of Chandrasila.

This temple has rich legend related to Pandavas.

The temple is believed to be 5000 years old.

During winter season the temple is closed and the symbolic image of the deity are moved to Makkumath which is 30 kms from here.

Best time to Visit – April to July

The weather is cold throughout the year. Rainfalls and Snowfalls often occur here. One should wear proper winter clothes with mufflers and gloves.
