Maa Sankata Devi Temple
is located on the Sindhia Ghat in Varanasi of Uttar Pradesh State.
It is believed that the
history of the Maa Sankatha temple dates back to the Ramayana. Following, the
Pandavas arrived in Kashi during their exile. And that's where they erected
this magnificent Sankatha Mata idol. After paying homage to her, Pandav spent
around a year at this location. Following their ardent devotion, Maa Sankatha
took away all of their misery. With Maa Sankatha's blessing, the Pandavas
emerged victorious in the Mahabharata conflict.

the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. As one enters the temple, there is a spacious
courtyard with a giant peepal tree surrounded by platforms.
