Miracles Done by Shiva on His Way to Amarnath

Devotees plan a trip to Amarnath every year during the month of July and to reach here, they cross numerous stops in between. All these spots have religious importance because it is said that Shiva along with Parvati had stopped at each of these destinations while on his way to Amarnath making the entire way blissful. Pahalgam This was the first spot where Shiva stopped to rest while on his way to Amarnath. It is said that he left his ‘vahana’, Nandi, at this location. Pahalgam is 96 kms from Srinagar and is surrounded by mountain peaks. Chandanbadi The next stop of Shiva was Chandanbadi. It is 16 kms from Pahalgam. Rice Should not be Consumed on Ekadasi Day

  Ekadasi is observed on eleventh day of hindu lunar fortnight. Devotees observe a day – long fast As per traditional beliefs, the Kaliyuga is dominated by wicked traits such as greed, hatred, destruction, devastation, anger, discord, violence etc. It will only end when Lord Vishnu's tenth avatar, Kalki, arrives.  To  observe vrat in Kaliyuga find it challenging to perform austerities. Thus, the prohibition of certain foods makes it easier for  those who observe Vrat. Once, a drop of sweat fell from Brahma's forehead. And it soon turned into a demon. The demon then appealed to Lord Brahma and sought permanent shelter. So Lord Brahma asked him to live in the rice grains that people would consume on the Ekadashi Tithi. TTD cancels VIP Darshan on Saturday and Sunday

  As part of facilitating Srivari Darshan for more common devotees, TTD has cancelled VIP Break Darshan slot on Saturdays and Sundays. TTD said that the move is aimed at providing hassle-free Srivari Darshan for common devotees who throng the pilgrim centre. With the reallocation of the time slot of VIPs to common devotees on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays will enable TTD in providing darshan to more number of devotees. As of now TTD has issued 30,000 SSD tokens every day. The latest decision of TTD will provide additional two hours of Srivari Darshan to common devotees on weekends.
