Highlights of Tirumala Brahmotsavam during September 18 – 25

  The following are highlights during the Srivari annual Brahmotsavam from September 18-25(8 days) . Srivari temple 5.47 pilgrims lakh had Srivari darshan During Garuda Vahana Seva 72,650 had srivari Darshan and over two lakh witnessed Garuda Vahana Seva. 8 lakh Laddu buffer stock kept and sold 30.22 lakh laddus Srivari Hundi collections ₹24.22 crore Vigilance and security wing : 2770 CCTVs, 5000 persons of TTD vigilance, and police in bandobust duty. 6000 child tags tied  Kalyana Katta : About 2.07 lakh devotees tonsured 1150  barbers engaged in  11 Kalyana Katta for tonsuring Reception 80.10%  occupancy rate achieved. Shri Tara Tarini Temple – Purushottampur

  Shri Tara Tarini Temple is located on Kumari hills near Purushottampur in Ganjam district of Odisha State. It is one of Adi Shakti Peeta Temples The goddesses Tara and Tarini are represented by two ancient stone statues with gold and silver ornaments. Two brass heads, known as their Chalanti Pratima or Living Image, are placed between them. Maa Tara Tarini is worshipped as the Breast Shrine (Sthana Peetha) of Adi Shakti Sati Devi here. Sri Naina Devi Temple – Nainital

  Sri Naina Devi Temple is located on the top of the Naina hill at Nainital of Uttarakhand State. Sri Naina Devi is an incarnation of Goddess Parvati There are two eyes in the temple which represent Naina Devi. It is believed about Naini Lake that when Shiva was going to Mount Kailash with the dead body of Sati, Shaktipeeths were established wherever his body parts fell. Alpashi Ustavam is celebrated at Anantha Padmanabhaswamy temple situated in Thiruvananthapuram. It is celebrated in the month of Thulam which usually falls in October or November. The primary attraction is the spectacular Aarattu ceremony, which involves the deities taking a sacred bath in the sea. The head of the Travancore Royal Family leads a large procession that leaves the temple and proceeds to Shanghumugham Beach while holding a sword. As thousands of devoted followers throng the streets to see this extraordinary and historic event, one can observe elephants in captivity, mounted police, and columns of armed police. The festival is celebrated for 10 days. Starts with Kodiyettu (flag hoisting).Kalasamas and Ulsava Kalasamas take place to daily routines.   Sri Kamakshi Amman Temple is located in the Bharathi Street of Puducherry. Goddess Kamakshi Amman is an incarnation of Goddess Parvati The temple is famed for its magnificent construction which is a fine exemplar of Tamil architectural design. Sri Bagheswari Devi Temple – Bongaigaon

  Sri Bagheswari Devi Temple is located in Bongaigaon city of Assam State. She is an incarnation of Goddess Parvati. It is one of the 51 Shakti Peetha temples The temple is so named due to the nearby Bagheswari Pahar.   There exists a rock-cut Ganesha of the medieval period, along with architectural components of a stone temple datable to 10th -11th CE.
