  Konark Sun temple is located in Konark in Puri district in the state of Odhisa. Gayatri Jayanti is Observed on Ekadasi day in Jyeshta Month. The next day after Ganga Dussehra. This day is  celebration to worship the mother of Vedas. Goddess Gayatri is worshipped as Veda Mata or the mother of Vedas, Dev Mata and Vishwa Mata. The Goddess is believed to have five heads. Four of the heads are a representation of the four Vedas while the remaining one represents the almighty. The celebration of Gayatri Jayanti involves offering prayers and chanting the Gayatri Mantra. The annual Special Sahasra Kalasabhishekam will be performed on June 20 commemorating the consecration of Bhoga Srinivasamurty. About 14 centuries ago, Pallava Queen Samavai Perundevi has presented a foot tall Silver idol of Bhoga Srinivasamurty which is considered as the replica of the main deity of Venkateswara Swamy.
