Anvadhan and Isthi   are observed by devotees of   Lord Vishnu. They are observed on Amavasya and Purnima day. Anvadhan is observed before Isthi. Anvadhan means the ritual of adding fuel to keep the sacred fire burning after Agnihotra. Devotees observe fast on this day. Isthi is a ritual that devotees perform for fulfilment of their desires in short time. Pithori Amavasya is observed on No moon day in the month of Bhadrapad (August - September) as per the North Indian calendar. Goddess Durga is worshipped on Pitori Amavasya. Pitha means flour and women make idols of Goddess Durga using the flour As per the Marathi Calendar, Pithori Amavasya, also celebrated as Pola falls on Amavasya in the Sravan month. It is observed by married woman for their children's health and prosperity. On this day especially mothers worship 64 Goddesses for their children's long life. This Vrat Vrat was narrated to the wife of Lord Indra by Goddess Parvati. In some regions, Goddess Durga, 64 Yoginis, and Saptamatrikas, Asthamatrukas are worshipped on the day.   Sri Bhuvaraha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple is located in Halshi town in Khanapur Taluk, Belagum district in the state of Karnataka. Here the deity is five feet tall idol is depicted carrying Bhudevi in his mouth. This temple was one of the examples of Kadamba architecture. This temple has two Garbhagruhas. TTD is organizing the annual Brahmotsavam of Sri Avanakshi Ammavari temple at Narayanavanam in Ekantham due to Covid guidelines from August 24 to September 10. The highlights of the celebrations include Abhisekam, Samarpana, Kankana Dharana on August 24. Special Abisekam to Mula virat of Amnakshi (Avanakshi) Ammavaru is on August 31. Thereafter Tiruchi utsavam shall be observed inside the temple from September 8-10 in the evening.

  The monthly Pournami Garuda Seva will be observed in Tirumala on August 22. Sri Malayappa Swamy is taken on a celestial ride from 7pm onwards on the mighty Garuda Vahanam.

  Sri Hayagriva Jayanti will be observed by TTD on August 22 at Tirupati.   This fete will be celebrated at the Sri Ramachandra pushkarini in Tirupati on Sunday evening between 5.30pm and 7pm.

TTD will be the Jayanthi fete of Sri Vikhanasacharyulu under the aegis of HDPP on Sunday.   The HDPP Project officer Sri Vijay Saradhi said the Jayanti utsavam of Sri Vikhanasacharyulu will be conducted between 3pm and 5pm at Asthana Mandapam in Tirumala on August 22.

  Sri Bedi Anjaneya Swamy temple is located in Tirumala. It is exactly opposite of Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple. After offering Navivedyam to Varaha Swamy and Venkateswara Swamy it is brought to this temple.   Tungnath Temple is located in Rudraprayag district in the state of Uttarakhand. Tungnath is an incarnation of Lord Shiva. It is one among the Pancha Kedar temples and this is the place where Lord Shiva’s hands found. It is one of the highest Shiva temples in the world. It is located at an altitude of 3680 mts from Sea level and just below the peak of Chandrasila. This temple has rich legend related to Pandavas. The temple is believed to be 5000 years old.   Sri Radha Raman Temple is located in Vrindavan in Mathura district in the state of Uttarpradesh. Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple is located in Devapalli in the state of West Bengal. Here the deity is self-manifested, Hiranyakasipu on his lap and Prahlada at his feet.
