  ఆషాఢమాసానికి సంబందించిన అంశాలలో చాతుర్మాస్య వ్రతం ఎంతో ముఖ్యమైనది. చాతుర్మాసం అంటే నాలుగు నెలలు అని అర్ధం తొలి ఏకాదశిగా పిలవబడే ఆషాడ శుద్ధ ఏకాదశి నుండి చాతుర్మాస వ్రతం ఆరంభమవుతుంది. ఆషాడ శుద్ధ ఏకాదశి రోజు శ్రీమహావిష్ణువు పాలసముద్రంలో యోగనిద్రకు ఉపక్రమిస్తాడు. ఈ విధంగా శయనించిన విష్ణువు నాలుగు నెలలు తరువాత అంటే కార్తీక శుద్ధ ఏకాదశి రోజు యోగనిద్ర నుండి మేల్కొంటాడు. ఆషాడ శుద్ధ ఏకాదశి రోజు మొదలైన చాతుర్మాస వ్రతం కార్తీక శుద్ధ ద్వాదశి రోజు ముగుస్తుంది. విష్ణువు శయనించిన నాలుగు నెలలు చాతుర్మాస్యం ఆచరించబడుతుంది. భగవంతుని మీద మనసును లగ్నం చేయడమే ఈ వ్రతం ముఖ్య ఉద్దేశం. స్కాందపురాణం, భవిష్యపురాణం, బ్రహ్మవైవర్త పురాణం ఈ వ్రత విధానాన్ని పేర్కొంటున్నాయి. వరాహపురాణంలో ఈ వ్రత ప్రాశస్త్యం వివరించబడింది. సన్యాసులు,యతులు ఒక చోటనే వుంటూ దీక్షతో అనుష్ఠాలను కొనసాగిస్తారు.  గృహస్తులు కూడా ఈ వ్రతాన్ని ఆచరించవచ్చు.  ఈ నాలుగు నెలలు దేశం లో సుభిక్షముగా  వానలు కురుస్తాయి.నేల బురద మయమవుతుంది . ఇలాంటి తేమ వాతావరణం వ్యాధులను కలిగించే సూక్ష్మ క్రిముల వ్యాప్తికి అనువుగా ఉంటుంది . చాతుర్మాస్య వ్రతములో పాటించే ఆహార,

TTD will release the online quota of arjita Seva tickets for September on June 27. Among the total of 46,470 tickets, the lucky dip Seva tickets include 8070 while the sevas on a first in first out basis include 38,400. The arjita sevas viz Suprabatham, Tomala, Archana, and Astadala Pada Padmaradhana tickets are allotted in lucky dip for which devotees should register online between 10 am on June 27 and 10am on June 29. Tickets confirmation is made after online lucky dip drawls. The list of those allotted tickets is updated on the TTD website after 12noon of June 29 and the devotees are informed via SMS and e-mails. All the allotted devotees should credit the ticket fare within two days of the announcement. While the general sevas including Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, arjita Brahmotsavam, and Sahasra Deepalankara will be released on June 27 at 4pm and shall be booked on a first-come-first-served basis.
