Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple - Vadapalli
Goddess Sridevi and Bhudevi are the consorts of Lord Venkateswara.
The roof around the temple is filled with Govinda namalu.
This temple has 5 tier Rajagopuram.
According to the history of this
temple once many Saints, Sanaka and Sanandana, etc, visited Lord Sri Maha Vishnu
in Vaikuntham. They requested Lord to establish Dharma and save people in
Kaliyuga. Then Sri Maha Vishnu promised that he will appear in a Chandana box
in Gowthami River. After many years people of Vadapalli found a Chandana box in the Holy Gowthami River. Then the villagers took a scared bath in river Gowthami and brought the box out to the shore. They found a beautiful Chandana statue of Sri
Venkateswara Swamy. Saint Narada established the temple after pratista “yagna”.
The temple rituals are performed by Vaikanasa Brahmins and Srinivasa Acharyas.
Devotees believe that
Venkanna Swamy (Lord Venkateswara) will be pleased and grant wishes if they
perform 11 pradakshina's(circumambulation) continuously on 7 Saturdays. Hence a
lot of crowds are expected every Saturday.
