Sri Azhagiya Singar
Perumal Temple is located in Kanchipuram in the State of Tamilnadu.
The presiding deity is
Mukunda Nayakan who is incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He is seated in a Yoga
Position. Goddess Sri Velukkai Valli is along with lord Vishnu.
Velukkai where Vel means
Wish and irukkai means stay.
This temple was built in Dravidian
style of architecture and has 3 tier Rajagopuram.
The Vimanam(the tower
above the Sanctum Sanctorum) of Sri Azhagiya Singa Perumal temple is called as
Kanaka Vimanam.
The temple is praised in
the Mangalasasanam hymns of saints Peyazhwar and Tirumangai Azhwar.
This temple was built
during 5th to 10th century.
