Gowri Habba
- This festival is celebrated just a day before the celebrations of the Ganesh Chaturthi.
- It is also known as Gowri Habba or Gauri Ganesha.
- It is observed on Bhadrapada Shuddha Tritiya.
- It is Celebrated by all married women.
- It is said that Goddess Gauri bestows her blessings on the women and blesses their husbands with a long and beautiful life along with prosperity and fertility.
- It is almost similar to the Varamahalakshmi Vrata and the only difference is that the deity of Goddess Gauri is worshipped in place of Goddess Lakshmi.
Goddess Parvati, Gauri, created Ganesha with the help of only a small amount of turmeric paste from her own body. Ganesh Chaturthi is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi and is considered to be Lord Ganesha's birthday. Lord Ganesha is the God of prosperity, wisdom, and auspiciousness. Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated during the Hindu month, Bhadrapada. To celebrate Lord Ganesha's birthday and to please him, the people of India celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi. The festival is celebrated for ten days. Generally, two idols of Gauri are brought home, and they are worshipped for three days. This signifies health, happiness, wealth, and prosperity. The Gauri idols are considered to be Lord Ganesha's sisters. In West Bengal, Lakshmi and Saraswati are known to be the sisters of Ganesha, and they are the children of Goddess Durga. Many legends tell that Lakshmi and Saraswati are also considered to be the two wives of Lord Ganesha - Buddhi and Siddhi.
Goddess Gauri is followed by Lord Ganesha and this is the main reason as to Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated after the Gauri pooja.
