Kharmas 2024-25 Dates

The period of transit of the Sun in Sagittarius is called Kharmas. The month of Kharmas starts in mid-December and ends on January 14. 

This month is mainly followed in Bihar and Jharkhand, and some parts of Uttar Pradesh States. It is considered inauspicious to conduct any auspicious tasks like marriages, housewarmings, and engagements.

Lord Surya and Lord Vishnu are worshipped in this month to attain peace and prosperity.

Things to do

Lord Surya Bhagavan is worshipped the whole month

Must chant mantras relating to Surya Bhagavan

Worshipping lord Vishnu will destroy all sins.

Take a bath in holy rivers.

Things to avoid

Must not consume non-vegetarian food and alcohol

New vehicles must not be purchased

Must not start new business ventures.
