Significance of Ashada Month

 

According to tradition, the rainy season officially began in the month of Ashadha. As a result, one should exercise caution when drinking water because the amount of aquatic organisms in the water has increased due to this month's rains. This is why harmful insects and kites are destroyed by performing yagya or havan this month.

This month is significant for agriculture because of the rains, and it is also known as the month of pilgrimages, prayers, chanting penance, and meditation.

Ashadha is the month of Lord Vishnu, Surya, Mangal, and Maa Durga in terms of religion. Ashadh is also known as the month of wish fulfillment.

According to legend, if one completes these three tasks throughout the month, their wealth will increase and all their efforts will be fruitful. Ashadh is where Chaturmas begins, where all auspicious works are not allowed.

Ashadha signifies that Gupta Navratri begins. The most advantageous time to receive Maa Durga's blessings is during Ashadh's Gupt Navratri. By participating in Durga Puja and the Ashadh Gupta Navratri fast, wishes can be granted.

In the month of Ashadha, digestion also slows down, so extra attention should be paid to one's health during this time. Eat completely no food that contains oil or vine in Ashadha. Water must be kept clean; otherwise, it may be dangerous.

By performing penance and reciting mantras, there is no lack of cash or grains during the month of Ashadha. During this entire month, it is thought to be best to sleep on the cot.

The four-month-long sleep period for the gods starts on the Devshayani Ekadashi of Ashadha. Marriage, shaving, planetary entry, and engagement are not performed during this time because doing so does not produce results and life continues to be difficult.
