Tirumala: Ratha Saptami on February 16

 

Shukla Paksha Saptami in the holy month of Magha is known as Ratha Saptami or Magha Saptami and it is believed that Sri Surya Deva starts enlightening the whole world on this auspicious day and is considered the birthday of the deity and hence also known as Surya Jayanti.

This year Ratha Sapthami occurs on February 16 and Tirumala is getting ready to host the mega-religious event making elaborate arrangements for the multitude of visiting devotees.

On a single day, the processional deity of Sri Malayappa Swamy takes out a celestial ride on Seven carriers from dawn to dusk blessing the devotees.

 

The Vahana Seva commences with the Suryaprabha Vahanam between 5:30 am and 8 am(with the first rays of Sun falling on Sri Malayappa Swamy fixed at 6:40am)

 

Chinnasesha Vahanam between 9 am and 10 am

 

Garuda Vahanam between 11 am and 12noon

 

Hanumantha Vahanam between 1 pm and 2 pm

 

Chakrasnanam between 2 pm and 3 pm


Kalpavruksha Vahanam between 4 pm and 5 pm

 

Sarvabhoopala Vahanam  between 6 pm and 7 pm  

 

Chandraprabha Vahanam between 8 pm and 9 pm.

 

Because of Ratha Sapthami, Arjitha Sevas such as Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Arjitha Brahmotsavam, and Sahasra Deepalankara Seva stand cancelled, whereas, Suprabatham, Thomala, and Archana will be performed in Ekantham, as the processional deities will be paraded along the four mada streets all through the day on different carriers.

Sri Raghavendra Swami Aradhana 2024 Dates

Sri Raghavendra Swami was born as the second son of Gopikamba and Thimanna Bhatta in the year 1595. The great saint who was hailed as the incarnation of Prahalada, the great bhakta of Lord Maha Vishnu, was born in the Mrighashirsha Nakshatra at Buvanagiri which is in the present day Tamilnadu. Born as Venkatanatha and fondly called Venkata Ramana, Sri Raghavendra Swami was the epitome of piety and bhakti. After serving the world and the lord for a lifetime, Sri Raghavendra Swami attained Jeeva Samadhi in the year 1671. It happened on the Dwitiya of Krishna Paksha of the Shravana month. Dhanurmas or Dhanur Masa is also known by the names Chapa Mas, Kodanda Mas, Karmuka Mas, etc. Dhanurmasa is also called Shoonya Masa because it is considered inauspicious to do any good things other than Godly and holy functions. In 2024  Dhanurmasam starts on  December 16 and ends on January 13, 2025. This period ends with the Makar Sankranti - the end of dakshinayana mostly occurs during the Pausha month of the Hindu Lunar calendar. Tirumala: March 2025 Quota Details

  The March 2025 quota of Arjita Seva tickets will be released on December 18 at 10am by TTD online which includes Arjita Sevas viz. Suprabhatam, Tomala, Archana, Astadalam. The devotees shall register for these sevas from December 18-20 and those who got the tickets shall have to pay from December 20 onwards and before the 12noon of December 22. Meanwhile, the Arjita Sevas like Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Arjita Brahmotsavam, Sahasra Deepalankara Seva tickets will be released at 10am on December 21 while the virtual sevas and gheir darshan slots on the same day at 3pm. TTD will release the  the Anga Pradakshinam tokens at 10am, SRIVANI tickets at 11am, Physically challenged and senior citizens at 3pm on December 23. The Rs.300 Special Entry Darshan will be released at 10am on December 24, accommodation for Tirumala and Tirupati at 3pm on the same day.   Pushya Masam is the tenth month as per the lunar calendar. In this month farmers get their crop hence it is called Soubhagya Laksmi Masam. The sun would transit in the northern direction and from then onward the Uttarayana Punyakalam starts. Uttarayana starts with the most famous festival Sankranti. Tirumala Brahmotsavam is an annual festival at  Lord Venkateswara Temple celebrated for nine days in September and October.
