Sri Kamakhya Devi Temple Timings - Kamakhya

 


Kamakhya Temple is situated on the Nilachal hill in the western part of Guwahati city in the State of Assam.


Goddess Kamakhya is an incarnation of Goddess Parvathi.


Here Lord Shiva is worshipped as Umanand.


Ambubachi mela is organized every year in the month of June.


The temple remains closed for three days i.e from June 22 – 24. After three days temple is opened for darshan.


During this fair the water of Brahmaputra river turns red.


Pujas like Vasanti Puja, Durgadeul, Madandeul, Pohan Biya, Durga Puja Ambubachi puja, Mansaa Puja will in particular months not on every day.


Sati Devi’s Womb had fallen here and the temple is also one of the Shakti Peetas.


This temple was also mentioned in Kalika purana


This temple was built in 8th – 9th century and renovated many times.

Tirumala Brahmotsavam is an annual festival at  Lord Venkateswara Temple celebrated for nine days in September and October. In this year 2025, Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy   Brahmotsavams   will be celebrated from  September  24 to   October 02. Popular stories trace the origin of this celebration to Brahma, the creator God, who first conducted this festival in Sri Balaji at Tirupati. Sri Raghavendra Swami Aradhana 2024 Dates

Sri Raghavendra Swami was born as the second son of Gopikamba and Thimanna Bhatta in the year 1595. The great saint who was hailed as the incarnation of Prahalada, the great bhakta of Lord Maha Vishnu, was born in the Mrighashirsha Nakshatra at Buvanagiri which is in the present day Tamilnadu. Born as Venkatanatha and fondly called Venkata Ramana, Sri Raghavendra Swami was the epitome of piety and bhakti. After serving the world and the lord for a lifetime, Sri Raghavendra Swami attained Jeeva Samadhi in the year 1671. It happened on the Dwitiya of Krishna Paksha of the Shravana month.   Sri Kabbalamba temple is located in Kabbalu village, Ramanagara district in the state of Karnataka.   Goddess Kabbalamba is an incarnation of Goddess Parvathi.
