Dasavatharam of Lord Vishnu

Das means Ten. Avatar means incarnation. Dasavathar means Ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu.As per Hindu mythology, Lord Brahma is responsible for creation, Lord Vishnu is responsible of saving (upkeep) and Lord Shiva is responsible of extermination.


Of the ten universally recognized avatars, nine have already appeared whereas the tenth is yet to appear. These ten avatars are also known by the name of Dasha Avatar of Vishnu. 


1.Matsya Avatar - Lord Vishnu in the form of Fish

The first avatar, Matsya, was taken by Lord Vishnu at the end of the Satyuga (last age), when a flood destroyed the world. In this avatar he saved humanity and the sacred Veda text from the 
flood.

2.Kurma Avatar - Lord Vishnu in the form of Turtle

It is also appeared at the end of satya yuga. When the devas and asuras were churning the Ocean of milk in order to get amrita,He helped devas to obtain the amrut (nectar) of immortality which was also sought after by the Asuras (demons). 

3.Varaha Avatar - Lord Vishnu in the form of Boar

In Satya yuga when Bhoomi Devi (Earth Mother) sank to the bottom of the ocean. Vishnu, in the form of varaha, dived into the ocean and raised the goddess out of the ocean, supported by his two tusks. 

4.Narsimha Avatar - Lord Vishnu in the form of Half - Man and Half - Lion 

This avatar takes place in satya yuga to kill the demon king Hiranyakashipu.Narsimha is the only avatar which was Hybrid in form being half human and half animal. 

5.Vamana Avatar - Lord Vishnu in the form of a Dwarf 

This avatar appeared in Treta Yuga in order to destroy Bali, the king of demons.

6.Parshurama Avatar - Lord Vishnu in the form of a Brahmin

In Treta yuga whe kings are harassing people and saints in the forest, he appeared in the form of parshurama and destroyed all the kings.

7.Rama Avatar - Lord Vishnu in the form of the King

 It is one of the most popular avatar of Lord Vishnu.In Treta Yuga he appeare as king of ayodhya,to rescue Sita with his loyal servant Hanuman and his brother, Lakshmana, and killed the demon Ravana. 

8.Krishna Avatar - Lord Vishnu in the form of a Cowherd's Boy

It is also the popular avatar of lord Vishnu.This avatar was occured in Dwapara Yuga.Lord Krishna conveyed the message of love and humanity to the world. Krishna told the epic poem Bhagavad Gita to the warrior Arjuna ,in which he acclaimed : ''Whenever Dharma, or the situation of law and order, is endangered on this world, I incarnate onto this world to re establish Dharma, law and order, and to protect the Sadhus or saints and to destroy the evil elements of the society.'' 

9.Buddha Avatar - Lord Vishnu in the Form of Buddha

Mahavira Buddha, appeared in the Kalyuga, to teach the lesson of following a middle path in life. ''Buddha'' means 'the enlightened one'. He taught that all sorrow comes from attachments and desires, so it's better to curb all attachments in order to remain happy. 

10.Kalki Avatar

The Kalki avatar   is yet to appear on the earth. And it is expected to appear at the end of Kali Yuga, the time period in which we currently exist, which will end in the year 428899 CE.

Sri Raghavendra Swami Aradhana 2024 Dates

Sri Raghavendra Swami was born as the second son of Gopikamba and Thimanna Bhatta in the year 1595. The great saint who was hailed as the incarnation of Prahalada, the great bhakta of Lord Maha Vishnu, was born in the Mrighashirsha Nakshatra at Buvanagiri which is in the present day Tamilnadu. Born as Venkatanatha and fondly called Venkata Ramana, Sri Raghavendra Swami was the epitome of piety and bhakti. After serving the world and the lord for a lifetime, Sri Raghavendra Swami attained Jeeva Samadhi in the year 1671. It happened on the Dwitiya of Krishna Paksha of the Shravana month. The Brindavana that houses the samadhi is in the Raghavendra Mutt in Mantralayam and is visited by hundreds and thousands of devotees each year. Tirumala: March 2025 Quota Details

  The March 2025 quota of Arjita Seva tickets will be released on December 18 at 10am by TTD online which includes Arjita Sevas viz. Suprabhatam, Tomala, Archana, Astadalam. The devotees shall register for these sevas from December 18-20 and those who got the tickets shall have to pay from December 20 onwards and before the 12noon of December 22. Meanwhile, the Arjita Sevas like Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Arjita Brahmotsavam, Sahasra Deepalankara Seva tickets will be released at 10am on December 21 while the virtual sevas and gheir darshan slots on the same day at 3pm. TTD will release the  the Anga Pradakshinam tokens at 10am, SRIVANI tickets at 11am, Physically challenged and senior citizens at 3pm on December 23.   Pushya Masam is the tenth month as per the lunar calendar. In this month farmers get their crop hence it is called Soubhagya Laksmi Masam. The sun would transit in the northern direction and from then onward the Uttarayana Punyakalam starts. Uttarayana starts with the most famous festival Sankranti. As per North Indian Calenders, this month starts on December 16 , 2024, and concludes on January 13, 2025. Dhanurmasam 2024-25 Dates

Dhanurmas or Dhanur Masa is also known by the names Chapa Mas, Kodanda Mas, Karmuka Mas, etc. Dhanurmasa is also called Shoonya Masa because it is considered inauspicious to do any good things other than Godly and holy functions. In 2024  Dhanurmasam starts on  December 16 and ends on January 13, 2025. This period ends with the Makar Sankranti - the end of dakshinayana mostly occurs during the Pausha month of the Hindu Lunar calendar. More appropriately, the start of the Dhanurmas is marked by the entry of the Sun in the Dhanur Rasi this is called Dhanu Sankramana. Mandala Puja at Sabarimala

Mandala Puja is an important ritual observed in Sabarimala Temple. The day of Mandala Puja marks the end of 41 days long austerity observed by devotees of Lord Ayyappa. Mandala Puja and Makar Vilakku are the two major events held in Sabarimala temple. It begins on the 1 st day of Malayalam month Vrishchikam and ends on the 11 th day of Malayalam month Dhanu. During these days  Sabarimala temple is opened for darshan. Most devotees from various parts of the world visit Sabarimala during these days. Mandala Puja is mentioned in Various Puranas. Vaikunta Ekadasi 2025: Special Pujas at Srinivasa Mangapuram Temple

  Special pujas will be observed in Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy temple at Srinivasa Mangapuram on January 10 and 11, respectively, in connection with Vaikuntha Ekadasi and Dwadasi. After Dhanurmasa Kainkaryams, Vaikuntha Dwara Darshanam will be given to devotees from 3:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and again from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on January 10.
