Vrat Katha
There lived a fowler (hunter) named Krodhan in the Vindhya hills. He spent all his life deceiving, looting people, and committing atrocities. One day, Yamaraj, the God of death, sent his representatives to Krodhan's house to end his journey on earth. However, after learning that his end is nearing, the Fowler rushes to Sage Angira's hermitage to save himself.
After seeing Krodhan, the Sage felt sorry for him and suggested that he must observe the Papankusha Ekadashi Vrat wholeheartedly and with utmost devotion to please Lord Vishnu. Krodhan observed the vrat like a true devotee and subsequently succeeded in attaining Moksha with the grace of the Lord.
