Vaishaka Month 2024

 

Vaishaka is the second month in the traditional Hindu lunar calendar. It is one of the auspicious months for Hindus. This month is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.

It is believed that taking bath in Holy Rivers and Sacred teerth on the day will help in the redemption of sins. This Month is considered to be the ideal month to perform charity, homas, fasts, etc. Hindu scriptures like Skandpurana describe the glory and significance of Vaishakh month mentioning that there is no other month like Vaishakh that is considered so auspicious. 

According to Sage Narada Maharshi, three months(Karthika Masam, Magha Masam, Vaishka Masam) for Hindus are considered highly auspicious. Among them, Vaishaka Masam is the supreme month. Lord Vishnu tests his devotees and blesses him as per his deeds. This sacred month Cleans the sins of previous birth and frees devotees from bad results.

Providing water to a thirsty person during this month is equal to performing Rajsuya Yagam. The person who takes a bath early in the morning and performs homas, rituals, and fasts to worship Lord Vishnu is immensely blessed.

As per Purnimant calenders, Vaishakha month Starts on  April 24  and ends on May 23. 


Festivals: 
 Akshaya Tritiya, Ganga Saptami,  Vaishakha Purnima, and varuthini Ekadashi are the major festivals.

According to Amavasyant calenders, Vaishakha Masam Starts on  May 09 and ends on June 06.
