  • By Killing the three asuras Tarakaksha, Vidyunmali, and Kamalaksha with a single arrow. Lord Shiva restored Peace.
  • There Lord Shiva took the avatar of Tripurari or Tripurantaka.
  • This festival is celebrated in the holy city of Varanasi.
  • On this day devotees take a dip in the sacred Ganga river.
  • All the ghats in Varanasi are decorated with light oil lamps.
  • Even in the homes during dusk, they lit the deepam
  • They pay tributes to Lord Shiva and have darshan.

Sri Murugan Temple is located at Thiruparankundram in Madurai district of Tamilnadu State. It is regarded as one of the Six abodes of Lord Murugan.   Sri Anchumoorthi Temple is located on the banks of Bharathappuzha at Thirumittacode of Palakkad district in Kerala State.
