  Sri Mallikarjun Swamy Temple is located at Chinmalla village in Afzalpur Taluk in Gulbarga district of Karnataka State. It is located on the banks of the Bhima River. Guru Dwadashi is observed on the 12th day, and Krishna Paksha in the month of Ashwin is followed in South India. Whereas in North India the corresponding month is Kartik Masam.
