  ఆషాఢమాసానికి సంబందించిన అంశాలలో చాతుర్మాస్య వ్రతం ఎంతో ముఖ్యమైనది. చాతుర్మాసం అంటే నాలుగు నెలలు అని అర్ధం తొలి ఏకాదశిగా పిలవబడే ఆషాడ శుద్ధ ఏకాదశి నుండి చాతుర్మాస వ్రతం ఆరంభమవుతుంది. ఆషాడ శుద్ధ ఏకాదశి రోజు శ్రీమహావిష్ణువు పాలసముద్రంలో యోగనిద్రకు ఉపక్రమిస్తాడు. ఈ విధంగా శయనించిన విష్ణువు నాలుగు నెలలు తరువాత అంటే కార్తీక శుద్ధ ఏకాదశి రోజు యోగనిద్ర నుండి మేల్కొంటాడు. ఆషాడ శుద్ధ ఏకాదశి రోజు మొదలైన చాతుర్మాస వ్రతం కార్తీక శుద్ధ ద్వాదశి రోజు ముగుస్తుంది. విష్ణువు శయనించిన నాలుగు నెలలు చాతుర్మాస్యం ఆచరించబడుతుంది. భగవంతుని మీద మనసును లగ్నం చేయడమే ఈ వ్రతం ముఖ్య ఉద్దేశం. స్కాందపురాణం, భవిష్యపురాణం, బ్రహ్మవైవర్త పురాణం ఈ వ్రత విధానాన్ని పేర్కొంటున్నాయి. వరాహపురాణంలో ఈ వ్రత ప్రాశస్త్యం వివరించబడింది. సన్యాసులు,యతులు ఒక చోటనే వుంటూ దీక్షతో అనుష్ఠాలను కొనసాగిస్తారు.  గృహస్తులు కూడా ఈ వ్రతాన్ని ఆచరించవచ్చు.  ఈ నాలుగు నెలలు దేశం లో సుభిక్షముగా  వానలు కురుస్తాయి.నేల బురద మయమవుతుంది . ఇలాంటి తేమ వాతావరణం వ్యాధులను కలిగించే సూక్ష్మ క్రిముల వ్యాప్తికి అనువుగా ఉంటుంది . చాతుర్మాస్య వ్ర...

As part of its mandate for promoting a common wedding platform for poor brides and bridegrooms, TTD also provides gold Talibottu of 2 gms, a pair of silver toe rings, and new pattu vastrams to both grooms and brides, a wedding feast to 20 guests each from bride and groom.
